| Synopsis: Adapted from
Sinclair Lewis's novel, a retired automobile tycoon (Walter
Huston) and wife (Ruth Chatterton) take an extended European
holiday. Increasingly obsessed with maintaining an appearance
of youth, Chatterton falls in with a crowd of frivolous
socialites. Discovering that his wife is leaving him for
a European baron, he is disconsolate until he meets a
pretty young widow (Mary Astor). When Chatterton realizes
what she may be losing, she attempts reconciliation, but
